A Simple Canned Salmon Spaghetti Recipe for the Family to Enjoy

Salmon is known as the king of fish because of its delicious flavor and its healthy features. Many people around the world hold salmon as their favorite dish, especially in the continents of Europe and America. Canning salmon was a no brainer because of its increasing demand worldwide. This has proven to be a good decision since people are now open to eating canned salmon.

The demand of canned salmon recipes went up, which is why you can find many options online. These recipes are more often than not very convenient to create. Pastas, patties, soups and salads are common dishes for canned salmon.

In spite of the fact that it is not fresh, canned salmon still tastes great when added to other ingredients.

A delicious canned salmon recipe:



• 1 (8 ounce) pack spaghetti
• 1 ½ tablspoons of extra virgin olive oil
• 1 cup chopped sweet onions
• 3 green onions, finely chopped
• 2 tbl spoons of basil pesto
• Two cans of salmon, six ounces each, removed from water
• Half a cup of parmesan cheese

Boil a pot of water; add a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of oil when it starts to boil. Put in the spaghetti noodles and cook until al dente or to the tooth. Overcooking the pasta will ruin the dish. Drain spaghetti and transfer to a new bowl. Put aside ½ cup of pasta water.

Heat your olive oil with a large pan over med. heat. Saute the sweet onions until fragrant then add the basil pesto, stirring until onions are tender (around 3 – 5 minutes). Mix in the salmon, and cook until it is heated through.

Add half of the parmesan cheese and cook for 5 minutes. Put in the cooked spaghetti and mix well, then introduce the pasta water tossing a couple more times. Transfer everything to a large serving plate and top with parmesan and spring onions, serve right away.
