Ell/Nikki of Azerbaijan won Eurovision 2011 with 221 points. They spoke of their surprising victory at the winners press conference.

The two were extremely overjoyed when they entered the press room at the Dsseldorf Arena, showing their new trophy, waving flags and cheering about their victory. Fans were wild with enthusiasm and cheered on their entrance into the conference.

Both Eldar and Nigar thanked the audience saying "the one thing we want to say is, we just love you. Thank you for your support".

The pair then went on to sing a song in Azeri, which was warmly received by the press and fans watching them in the room.

"We want to bring Europe together with our song", said Eldar when asked about how the song can maybe contribute to solving many problems in Europe.

Nigar said, "A few months ago I was a housewife but now I am the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is my biggest dream".

"We never thought about the rankings. We just worked so hard for months and we were so happy with what we were doing", Eldar explained.

It was 23 years ago that world famous and beautiful Cline Dion won the Eurovision contest, by singing Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi for Switzerland. It was only Switzerland's second victory, after they won the very first contest in 1956.

Already for 54 years, the Eurovision Song Contest is Europe's favorite TV show. After more than five decades featuring some 1,100 songs, the contest has become a modern classic, strongly embedded into Europe's collective mind.
