Since children easily believe anything, they are susceptible to being afraid of many things. Regrettably, childhood anxiety disorder and have a big impact on a child's life. In many instances, diagnosis often delayed because parents dismiss the fearful symptoms as normal.There are many situations wherein parents often overlook their child's fears and consider them as part of growing up. 2. Specific phobias. The most common definition for phobia is an irrational fear that can possibly interfere with a person's normal activities. Especially for children, these fears cannot be controlled. children can fear objects, animals, people or even some places.
3.Social anxiety disorder. A child would refuse to participate in situations wherein they could suffer embarrasment or humiliation. Even social events like birthday parties or school parties would be avoided by the child as much as possible.
4. Generalized anxiety disorder. Children who suffer from this condition often feel bothered even by simple events taht should not be a cause fo concern. They are bothered with possible negative events such as illness, disasters, accidents or even world events. The child almost expects the occurrence of a negative event anytime.
5. Panic disorder. A child can suffer from panic attacks and consistently worry about dying or becoming crazy. They suddenly feel tense and nervous once they get preoccupied with negative thoughts.
6. Obsessive compulsive disorder. The child may feel the need to wash hands excessively as a means of coping with the tension. This condition can persist throgh adulthood if no medical attention is given.
The aforementioned childhood anxiety disorders are just general descriptions of some types. Visit a doctor to have a full and accurate diagnosis of the condition for effective treatment.
