In performing deep breathing relaxation techniques, diaphragm is used instead of the lungs. The good thing about deep breathing exercises is it lets you to sends a signal to your brain for your body to be relaxed and calm. Although, we consider deep breathing as simple exercise without knowing that there are proper steps that you should follow in order to have a completely relaxed state. Take a look at the four steps that you should follow and to gain the utmost advantage using deep breathing relaxation techniques.
Step 1. Be relaxed. This is the very first thing to do. Finding a comfortable place is very important. A settee and a chair is enough as long as you're in a comfortable position. The purpose here is to allow your body and mind to calm down and relax. Your muscles are relaxed and your heartbeat are now normalize, then that's the time that you already reach the goal of the first step. Moreover, listening to music that's soothing to your ears will help you in your relaxation period.
Step 2. Correct breathing. With this method, you are using your diaphragm than using your lungs when breathing. Placing your one hand on your abdominal area, then the other hand to your chest area is necessary in doing this step. As you observe, your abdomen will go up and down, instead of your chest. If in case what happens is the opposite then try to take breaths through your mouth instead of through your nose;then, try to press the muscles of your abdomen as you exhale.
Step 3. Do it again. Have a regular time for this. Do it till you're perfect at it. As you repeat the procedure, try to slow down your breathing. Simultaneously, you can rest your mind by visualizing that you're in a calming environment. For instance, your imaging that you're at the holiday place or at the spa where you were before.
Step 4. Regular Breathing Exercise. You can do this exercise on a daily basis as part of your routine until you mastered the process. This technique can be done anytime whether before or after a tiring work loads you have everyday. If you do this every now and then, you will be amazed at the drop of your stress level.
